Winterexperience in Zermatt's Igloo Village

The world’s highest igloo village at 2'727 metres offers a wide range of experiences between December and April. From Zermatt, you travel to the top on the Gornergratbahn funicular or the Riffelberg Express via Furi. The trip lasts around 30 minutes; alight at the Rotenboden station. From there, the Igloo Village is about 15 minutes on foot.

Accommodation in the Igloo hotel

Would you like to stay overnight in an igloo as a special holiday experience? Guest igloos are four metres in diameter on average. Cosy expedition sleeping bags keep guests warm at night. The accommodation package includes a showshoe trek by night and use of the spa facilities. A highlight: heated open-air jacuzzi with view of the Matterhorn.

Altogether, Zermatt’s Igloo Village has accommodation for 32 guests. You can choose from the following categories of igloo accommodation: Standard, Romantic (Normal, Plus, Family or Suite) and “Build your own love nest”.

Worth knowing: Present your igloo-village booking confirmation at the sales counter and you’ll get a discount on your lift ticket.

Even more worth knowing: Bring warm winter clothing with you – temperatures in the igloos are around freezing point. Rucksacks are recommended for the trip – please don’t bring suitcases.

Have you already spent the night in an igloo? No? Then it’s time to book a winter trip in the “unforgettable” category. The team at Zermatt’s Igloo Village on Rotenboden/Gornergrat is looking forward to your visit. Book today!
