The Matterhorn Alpine Crossing with another convenient highlight
From 1 of November 2025, travellers will have access to another complementary service offered by the Matterhorn Alpine Crossing: luggage transport between Zermatt and Cervinia. The luggage transportation service will not only make the Matterhorn Alpine Crossing more convenient, but also an all-round unique experience for guests from all over the world.
Just like when travelling by plane, guests can check in their luggage at the luggage counter in Zermatt or Cervinia and start their journey relaxed. While you enjoy the Alpine crossing by cable car between Switzerland and Italy and explore the highlights along the route, Zermatt Bergbahnen and Cervino S.p.A. take care of the safe transport of your luggage.
Luggage can be easily registered online in advance and checked in on the day of the trip at the luggage counter at the valley station in Zermatt or Cervinia. Registration must be done in person by each guest, as the luggage and customs regulations must be observed and signed for personally for each piece of luggage.
Two luggage transports are offered per day in both directions. Just two hours after dropping off your luggage, it will be ready for collection at the valley station of your destination. Guests will receive an SMS notification as soon as their luggage has arrived.
The new luggage transportation service makes the Matterhorn Alpine Crossing even more convenient – and a special highlight for travellers who want to experience the Alps in a unique way.
