A long-cherished vision has become reality: a connection between Zermatt and the Italian resort of Cervinia, unbroken and operational throughout the year, thanks to the Matterhorn Alpine Crossing. Since 1 July 2023, the Matterhorn Glacier Ride II is the final piece of the puzzle, as the highest continuous Alpine crossing by cable car was completed. The modern cableway links the peak Matterhorn Glacier Paradise with Testa Grigia.

Peak2Peak Ticket
Discover the two Zermatt must-see perspectives at Matterhorn Glacier Paradise and Gornergrat on one excursion day with the Peak2Peak Ticket. Your excursion begins with a trip to the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise (3'883 m), the highest mountain station in Europe. Once you have absorbed that, you take the cable car to Riffelberg and reach the Gornergrat (3'089 m) with its idyllic cog railway. The Gornergrat Bahn transports you in great comfort back to the centre of Zermatt in the immediate vicinity of the train station. Of course, this excursion may be done in the reverse order.
Gornergrat round trip
During the Gornergrat round trip you will discover all of the facets available in the Zermatt excursion catalogue. Enjoy a section of the route with the imposing cog railway to Gornergrat and then sway back to Zermatt from Riffelberg via the idyllic hamlet of Furi with amazing views from the cable car.
You can also use the Riffelberg-Express for both sections (mountain and valley).

The amount of the reduction depends on the date of birth. Official ID showing date of birth required.
Access to the Italian area will be sold in the name and for the account of Cervino Spa and Cime Bianche Spa. The exact details of the Italian and Swiss shares will be announced to the clientele by posting at the sales outlets of Zermatt Bergbahnen AG and on the receipt given to the users.
