Zermatt once again dominates the Best Ski Resort Report – Aletsch Arena achieves top rankings

The Matterhorn Ski Paradise has won the Best Ski Resort Report for the fifth time. With an overall satisfaction score of 8.48, the international ski area at the foot of the Matterhorn has once again confirmed its exceptionally high quality standards. With wins in 2014, 2016, 2020, 2023 and 2026, Zermatt has impressively dominated this ranking for more than a decade.

Its leading position is underlined by top scores in the categories of ski area size/range of slopes, slope quality, snow reliability, lift comfort, safety on the slopes, gastronomy, natural surroundings and ski school.

Aletsch Arena confirms its top quality

With an overall score of 8.24, Aletsch Arena is the second-highest-rated ski destination in Switzerland and, as in 2023, ranks sixth in the top ten. Since 2012, Aletsch Arena has consistently received very high ratings from guests. Top rankings in the Rent & Service and Peace & Relaxation categories, along with top-five scores for snow reliability, children’s and family facilities, and natural surroundings, further reinforce this strong result.

The Best Ski Resort Report

The Best Ski Resort Report 2026 is a leading guest satisfaction survey in Alpine winter tourism. It is based on on-site surveys of guests and customers in ski resorts and is conducted every two years. For the 2026 edition, around 41,000 people took part in the survey.

The survey focused on 14 key satisfaction criteria, ranging from the size of the ski area and the quality of the slopes to the atmosphere at the destination. This year’s awards ceremony took place in Innsbruck, Austria.
